Painting animals is hugely satisfying, whether someone’s beloved pet, or any wild animal. If you like my style and would like a special commissioned piece then please don’t hesitate to contact me.
For animal portraits I will need a very clear, colour-accurate, and good resolution photo that you’d like me to work from; a few other photos that demonstrate the character are always helpful to see too. A portrait photograph tends to work best taken at eye level with the subject in good light but not in direct bright sunlight, and with the focus on the subjects eyes (but of course, if you have a particular pose in mind I will happily go with it, and it can actually create a compelling painting when worked from an interesting pose). Below are some of the paintings I have completed.
The following example prices are for an acrylic painting of one animal on stretched canvas, which can be hung as it is or can also be framed. I would charge a little more for an oil painting because of the cost of materials and the extra time it would take.

As well as offering painted portraits I also work in pencil, charcoal and pastel. Drawings don’t consume as much time as paintings to complete so prices reflect this.

Other subjects
I am also happy to paint landscapes or even still life pieces if you have a special object you would like immortalised in paint (favourite teddy?). Always open to discussion.
I will need payment for commissions to be made in two parts; the first part being a 50% deposit, payable before painting begins and on agreement of all options and the second part on or before collection. Prices do not include p&p and if you would like your commission posted to you full payment must be made on completion.
